In 2000, I joined Mike Libecki, Doug and Jed Workman on the Big Walls of China Expedition. Our goal was to explore massive granite walls on the border between China and Kyrgyzstan. No westerners had previously been allowed in this region. With sponsorship from Mountain Hardwear, Patagonia, The American Alpine Club and Outside Magazine, we set of on a grand adventure.
