My first hike through what I call the "Enchanted Forest" was back in 1995. The Bishop Pine forest here is a surreal Dr. Seuss-like landscape painted with wild colors. When the sun's last rays stream through the trunks, it looks like the forest is on fire. The photographs I am most proud of from this place are often overlooked because people erroneously believe I used a bright orange filter to achieve the outrageous colors when, in fact, it was all natural light. Exceptional nature photography demands exceptional light. The best light is sometimes unbelievable to those not accustomed to seeing creation in all it's glory.
